Located on the hills of Envigado, and responding to the topography and domestic dynamics that make up the single-family house, the house develops its program around the social areas and the swimming pool as the central point of the architectural project.

Water and landscape

The pool was conceived as the center of the house, connecting social areas and offering panoramic views. This feature redefined the concept of outdoor space, merging water and landscape in an aesthetic symbiosis, in this sense, the pool is the vanishing point towards the landscape.

It is understood as a balcony type house that withdraws social uses to the outside, thus building an ambivalent architecture that understands the need to take advantage of the natural environment in which it is immersed, as well as allowing a diversity in the typologies of leisure that are proposed; the temperature fluctuation requires adaptability in the forms of living, so, due to its importance from its conception, a constant occupation of the deck is guaranteed.

Constructive adaptability.

For its construction, a reduced palette of materials was proposed to work in relation to the surrounding chromatic landscape. The characteristic of the hillside house in Envigado is the appearance of the silver Yarumo that stands out over the homogeneous vegetation, in this sense, the house was understood in its front as a concrete facade in an allegorical conversation with the pictorial landscape that was to be built, without leaving aside the brown tones provided by the natural wood.

The interior had to take a radical stance in relation to its exterior, for this reason, each space functions as a stage that takes advantage of the geometry and variable heights resulting from the architectural proposal; the eclecticism arises from the volume.

As the form is linked to the site, the internal and external circulations do not follow a linear pattern, the route itself is a space of constant transition that understands the importance of the promenade in architecture; the identity character of each space is consistent with the specific ways of inhabiting the project. The value of circulation is rescued in its totalizing spatial quality over its condition as a technical result to cover the need for movement.
